deeply introverted, indeed
I've been staring at this blank screen for forty minutes. And this comes after
I've avoided this part of the update since I started working on it a few days
ago. What will I say?
tell me your secrets,
but tell me no lies.
I give you my secrets,
instead of my lies.
Sometimes I get lost looking for a pattern in the snowflakes falling as I split
them and they come crashing into my windshield. All I see are spots of white
dotting a dirty gray landscape blurring even the horizon line of earth/atmosphere
and trees/sky.
I watched all the streetlights on Main St. fade on into the night. I caught
a funeral procession crossing a bridge over the highway on my way home. Strobing
blue and red motorbikes leading a line in honor of fallen honor. I drove under
them and emerged with saltwater eyes glancing back over my shoulder looking
for a resting place.
I felt a tear freeze to my cheek;
permanent,
as long as I stay cold.
