The brick
and mortar home of Soulsmiles is moving. Which basically means that I'm moving.
Yeah yeah! My mom has taken a job in DC, which will keep her occupied and
away from Michigan for a large amount of time, although she will be "commuting."
So instead of staying at the house where I currently reside, I'm moving out
and into a condo with my sister. Any guesses why? Anybody?
We actually just learned lastnight that we got the condo we wanted. Hopefully
by June 1st I'll be outta here and chillaxin in my new place. It's really
cool. I will be the basement hermit of the household again.
Enough about me. Oh wait, this is MY website, I can do what I want!
Another
big change happening in the usually constant life of me is that I'm going
to therapy three days a week now, instead of two days like the past two years.
Like most of society, you're probably a little put off by that. Oh my god,
she has to see a shrink three days a week. Gasp! But it's actually a good
thing. It's progress, a step forward for someone who doesn't like to step
forward. Another little secret I'll let you in on about myself is that I don't
like to get close to people. There is a very real danger of abandonment that
people pose to me. So for me to say, ok doc let's meet MORE, is a pretty big
deal. So for all the disbelievers and naysayers amongst you, fear not for
my mental well-being, it's all good.
Kill Bill
Vol. 2 - www.kill-bill.com
First off, if you haven't seen the first one go rent the dvd right this very
second. I will forgive you for not reading the rest of the update. After watching
Vol. 1, go to your local movie theater and watch Vol. 2. Your life will then
be complete. These movies are really THAT good.
As far as I'm concerned, Quentin Tarantino, is a genius. He uses some amazing
camera angles throughout the film making each frame feel like a photograph.
And his love for all things movies really comes through with the blending
of genres.
Uma, not enough can be said about this woman. She's amazing, talented, cool
as ice, intense, and funny...all in the same breath.
My favorite part is the "Daryl Hannah freaking out" scene. I will
say no more because you really have to see it to understand.
I just checked out the soundtrack online and track 2 is a song I've posted
before. It's called "Goodnight
Moon" by Shivaree (link). So yeah, I'm cool - Quentin and I like
the same music.
Woohoo!!!
The semester is wrapping up nicely. Yesterday was my last day of classes,
a final on Friday, and I'm chillin for the summer. Well, until I get a JAY
OH BEE. Journalism has turned out to be something I do not enjoy very much.
In fact, I hated it. I bullshitted the last three assignments, which means
I wasn't exactly truthful but I did the work. And Modern Lit. turned into
a really cool experience. It doesn't hurt to be getting a 4.0 in the class
either. Everyone keeps asking me how much more do I have to go before I graduate.
And the answer is...wait for it...I don't know!
Plans
for the summer...
Ho hum Ho hum, what ever will I do with my time. It breaks down like this:
there are things I want to do and things I will do. For instance, I would
like to write this summer, but I probably won't. I would also like to read
a book or two or ten, but I probably won't. But before I sound like a lazy
beyotch let me say that I really do plan on redesigning Soulsmiles. This design
has been up for awhile (since July), and I do believe it is time for an overhaul.
To the left
you will see a section titled In The Moment. I rarely talk about it because
I forget about it until one minute after I've already posted the update. But
I still update the Moment section. This week I've got some really crazy cool
websites for ya. So be sure to check out that lil' section while you're checking
out the main update. Who knows, maybe I will introduce you to something you
love but up until now didn't know existed. Also, if you feel you've missed
an update or if you're exceedingly bored check out the Archives for some laughs
and memories. Awww, how sweet.
