This has been my big back-to-school week, or BTS as OfficeMax likes to call it. I usually feel some sort of nervous tension before the start of classes, but I felt nothing like that this year. My feeling was "it is what it is." Both my classes, Art History and Fiction, seem to be pretty cool and interesting so far. Art History will be cool once we get out of the middle ages, but that will come later in the semester. And Fiction is broadening my horizons on reading. It's opening up this whole new world of short stories to me, which is good cause that's how I like my reading...short. I haven't met or encountered any truly annoying people yet, although OU is full of them, so stories of my annoyance are sure to come. OU is a "commuter" campus, meaning the vast majority of us drive. Well, because OU is mostly commuters parking has been a royal pain in my ass. There is one main lot in front of this main strip that is the center of activity, and this lot was full by 11:30. The first day I invented a parking spot, and the second day I parked in front of the dorms, which was up this godforsaken hill. This parking situation has gotten local news coverage because it's so bad! Things usually iron themselves out after the first week, so we shall see.

Gimme the music...!
Trip-hop has become one of my favorite types of music. In my definition it combines hip-hop, jazz, electronic, and r&b all in one form. So today's music lesson comes courtesy of trip-hop. All of the artists below sound different, but have the same basic elements of trip-hop; melodic vocals and simple beats. Enjoy!
- Blue Six / beautiful tomorrow - "Let's Do It Together" & "Sweeter Love"
- Esthero / Breath from Another - "Breath from Another"
- Frou Frou / details - "Breathe In"
- Massive Attack / Blue Lines - "Unfinished Sympathy"
- Morcheeba / Fragments of Freedom - "Love is Rare"
- Weekend Players / Pursuit of Happiness - "Jericho" & "21st Century"

I've gotten a really great response from the most recent photos I've taken, Around the House in One Hour (Gallery I). So, as promised, I have posted Gallery II. Make sure you give it a peek.
