Consider
this update unplanned and perhaps a bit scatterbrained. I am leaving for my
usual holiday trip to Arkansas and Texas today and have some extra time on
my hands. Aren't you lucky? Or maybe you even feel a bit blessed? Ha! Read
on...
During the
past weeks I've been a bit busy, but I found the time to edit, code, and upload
two new photography galleries for your viewing pleasure (or displeasure if
you don't like what you see). The first one is of some snaps I took while
Up North earlier this fall. The leaves were on the tail end of beauty, ready
to fall off and die. And the second gallery is of Fall around my house, dead
leaves and all. The second one is a little morbid, but that's life, that's
nature in all it's splendid and dying glory. Please click the Gallery link
above.
How could
I let an update go by without putting in my two cents on Michael Jackson?
I've debated this issue over and over in my head. Ya know, innocent till proven
guilty. And he has such an amazing talent, genius if you will. SIKE!!! That
crazy mofo is so guilty! It's so not a coincidence that these charges have
come back to haunt our favorite baby-dangling pop star, it's just not. I don't
care if he had a messed up childhood. I don't care if he never even had a
childhood. You just don't touch kids like that, you don't even LOOK at them
like that. He's an adult, he's a father, he's a role model, it's just not
right. I hope he's found guilty and goes to jail. Maybe he'll get some state-sponsored
therapy, which he so desperately needs. Or maybe he'll find out what it's
like to be the object of someone's affection if you know what I mean. If he
goes to jail I hope soap-on-a-rope isn't allowed in the shower.
Tis' the
season for major movie releases. I haven't seen too many lately, and haven't
had a great desire either. Although, there are a few movies coming up that
have peeked my interest.
First, the ones I don't want to see and why. I would like to put Master &
Commander in this category, but I saw it. It pretty much sucked smelly fifteenth
century ass. In my entire life I've only left one movie early by choice and
it was this one. I had no desire to find out what happened, none whatsoever.
And that's all the space I am willing to give that horrid movie. Next movie
I don't want to see is The Last Samurai. Is anyone else SO over Tom Cruise
yet? Please, take your Scientology holier-than-thou preaching's and shove
them up your Nicole-Kidman-dumping-for-ugly-Penelope-Cruz-ass! Next on my
shit list is Peter Pan. I've seen the previews and am not impressed, in fact
I'm scared by it! It looks dark and depressing and I got enough of that in
my life right now, I don't need it in a freaking Disney movie too.
Next, the movies I am eagerly anticipating. Lord of the Rings: The Return
of the King!! I read the entire trilogy as a whole and this was by far my
favorite. Aragorn is my favorite character of the series and finally he is
triumphant! It's going to be great! Next, Paycheck with Ben Affleck and Uma
Thurman. There is a buzz going around about Ben Affleck's ability to draw
in the audience after his 2003 was filled with a bombed movie, Gigli, and
a bombed attempt at a wedding, but I don't give a rat's ass about all of that.
If the movie is good then it's good, it shouldn't be about the life of the
actor. And before Affleck was involved with J.Lo he was somewhat respected
so I'm hoping that this is a success for him. And about the movie, it's from
the guy who wrote Minority Report! AND Uma Thurman from my fav movie of 2003,
Kill Bill, is in it! And lastly I want to sort of see Mona Lisa Smile, primarily
because Julia Roberts is such a joy to look at. I just rented Confessions
of a Dangerous Mind this week and she was great, as usual. (Great movie by
the way, very artistically shot).
So Saddam
Hussein has been captured alive. What do I think about that? At first I was
very unpatriotic about it, like the military just stumbled on this hole and
he was in there, like it was a mistake, a fluke. But I am happy he's been
caught and I hope he gets the death penalty if such a thing exists in a war
crimes tribunal. My major problem with this is President Bush's celebration
of this as a personal triumph, as if he crawled into the hole and found the
fucker himself. It's going to boost his campaign for re-election, which in
my eyes is just a deception to the public. I don't trust Bush, I don't think
he has the American people's interest first and foremost in his decisions,
unless you're a rich businessman with the capability of giving his campaign
lots of money. If this capture had come any closer to election time it would
be no contest, Bush would win, but I am hoping we can see through the deception.
Well I'm
off to Arkansas and Texas for a week of holiday bliss. I've got all the necessities...laptop,
dvd's, mp3 player, journal, book, tampons, midol, excedrin pm...the list goes
on. Holiday travel, or any travel for that matter, is a bitch. People get
so flustered and over-sensitive to every little thing, myself included. But
it's fun to watch other people at the airport. I am hoping to brainstorm a
new site design over the holiday break. The orange just isn't rocking my world
anymore. I am hoping to incorporate my photography in some manner. Of course,
a site redesign will entail a lot of work and seeing as how I start back to
school on the sixth of January it will be a minor miracle of it gets accomplished.
I hope you all have a safe and relaxing holiday. Enjoy your families, enjoy
the season, and my best wishes in the New Year!
