a baby bumblebee buzzed around my brain today
he buzzed away against a blue sky
and fluffy sunlit white clouds

Madge across the street has an american flag
buzzing in this Saturday breeze
little solar lamps light her sidewalk at night

the little baby bumblebee has come back
he hasn’t learned to fear humans yet
but my fear of him has already set in
swat.

human might versus baby bumblebee buzz
exertion of power out of fear
me, five feet nine, 180 pounds
bee, measurable in ounces

the flag across the street buzzes
its fabric rippling and snapping in some fine american wind
lit with some fine american sun
we own the wind and the sun
we are me, all big and mighty
bee. them. ounces
swat.
