I rarely ever finish books
I flip through the pages
read the table of contents
read the first page
touch fingers to paper
hand to spine,
dive in for awhile
but then
I can't finish.
I notoriously never finish
anything.
immerse myself in a hobby
for a few months
then let it go,
loss of interest.
I've taught myself
the art of quitting,
I'm good at convincing myself
that I will be better off
if I quit,
cause nothing
nothing
can control me like that,
can own me.
I am unable to become addicted
to anything,
believe me
I've tried.
This book I'm reading
I started four months ago
and am half way through,
but this time
I keep it with me
with my journals
my music
my life.
I desire
finishing.
I think.
