Guru (she stands)
she stands for those who can’t stand for themselves
on feet never meant to support her tiny frame
she stands for them when she can’t even stand for herself
she stands in old boots, new boots, flip-flops, and bare feet
she’ll stand on her hands if you ask her to
but you won’t
cause on her shoulders she carries your respect
she stands in her writing, in her words
and you all listen, waiting for the next drip from her mind
somewhere you know that her words
are your words
cause she stands for you too
