I like to drink you
carbonated and caffeinated
screw-topped or freshly brewed
I like you mixed
with cacao, butter and milk
hard or gently heat-kissed
I like you light and moist
flavoring the escaping air
spreading and building
I like you warm and dense
covering the full width of my tongue
freshly dipped in cold milk
I like you barely frozen and soft
heaped and overflowing
sweetly melting in the heat of my mouth
I like that dull throbbing ache you leave
in my back teeth
