The Saranay Motel

the no-tell escaped out the window
over the concrete sidewalk
across the freshly tarred parking lot
waiting in the atmosphere of this drama
you slammed your truck door
smiled, then cried
your heart leaping out of your chest
and joining your lies in orbit
a way out has presented itself
opportunity for stardom at your feet
bite marks and sore wrists into it
you have committed a crime
but damn, your philosophy on Life is to apologize later
so you showed your teeth and bit back
ain't nobody ever had a thing on you!
on the back of your woman you fled
you left and found yourself flying
and that's better than living any day
but looking back
looking down, you see the damage
you see that she did love you
but not as much as you love to fly
the view of freedom should not be heeded
and you're gone
participating in the games we will play from the other side
